Reflection Task 1b

A Fuller Life Through Achievement: Helen Keller

Helen Keller was born in Alabama,1880. At first, she was a healthy baby, but when she was 19 months, she had a terrible disease.Unfortunately, because of this disease, she lost her ability to see, hear and speak. Her mother searched a lot to find a solution for her daughter. At last, she found a tutor from Perkins Institute for  impaired people. Thanks to this tutor(Anne Sullivan), Helen Keller learnt reading, writing and speaking. Although she was deaf, blind and unable to speak, she never gave up. She continued her life with endless perseverance. She was the first deaf-blind  person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree .She had roles  in different organizations which is working for impaired people. She devoted herself to blind people. She had a lot of difficulty and obstacle, but she achieved more things than a normal person did. In my opinion, She was very good example for people who give up easily. Her encourage and achievements must be seen as a lesson for all people. That's why  she should be known more. People should see her as a model for themselves. After I read her life story, I was really impressed. Despite of her blindness and deafness, she was able to learn five languages. Also, she could play chess. In addition she wrote many essays and books. Briefly, I think she Helen Keller should be recognized more due to her  accomplishments.
