Alexa Meade : Your body is my canvas
I would like to talk about Alexa Meade and her incredible
art. You may want to ask about why I chose this subject. Here is the answer: Last
year, one of my roommates made a presentation about unusual forms of art such
as book-carving, egg-carving and “Alexa Meade as a painter”. I want to know
more about the Alexa Meade, because I thought how a person can be an art on her
own. Therefore, I googled her and this video can sum up all the things I wanted
to know.
The extraordinary thing about Alexa Meade is she take a
human as a 3 dimensional object, and turn him/her into a 2 dimensional
painting. When I saw her works at first sight,
I thought they are absolutely Photoshop! She paint her works with acrylic, but
not on canvas. Surprisingly, she paint it directly and physically on the top of
the man. The person, the clothes, the chair, ears, mouth (except from the eyes)
are painted in her works. Then she photographed them, and this is her “art”.

Actually I love the way of her telling us about her dream and passion in a
funny and realistic way. I think Alexa’s painting is awesome. Maybe it is not a
masterpiece, but it is innovative. It gives us a message that art does not
simply belong to the artists. A student of political sciences can also create a
painting, like Alexa Meade. I love that she is decided to give up her job and
pursuit her dreams. There are so many people who can paint people- but actually
just Alexa can paint people J
